Is having an abortion being bad?

This is one of the most controversial topics that has never been properly resolved.I will refer to this interms of Kantian ethics.This would consider the categorical imperative and to universalism the maxim.Therefore if for example a women was raped and she found herself preganant it would be considerable to have an abortion as she doies not want to be left with the scarrs of the rapist.However,for this to be maxismised it would suggest that everywomen left pregnant by their rape victim would have an abortion.But is not that child a victim too?

Is having sexual relations out of wedlocks bad?

In christianity it specifically suggests that fornication is a sin and therefore is bad.The Bible has great religious authorituy aspecially in the christian tradition in which I follow.However fornication is an abomination also in the Isalmic faith as well.But how about those that do not follow a religion,or even those who do not intend to get married? I may be suggested that in these cases sex can be abused once practiced without meaning or a state of commitment.One night stands are out of the question especially with a total stranger.

Is being able to lie a good thing?
No because it mens you are trying to deceive someone or vstating something that may not have happened.
Would the world be a better place if everyone always told the truth?Yes because it is part of human flourishing it is a virtue.
Are men and women very different when it comes to lies?
Not really, as lying is something that can have the same quality.
What are the worst kinds of lies?When you go against the command thou shall not kill,How can you lie about taking a persons life as life is a sacred gift from God.

Nasty comedians 19 April

This topic is based on Comedians that provide humour even interms of discrimination.What I mean by this is that they provide a sense of humour from others misfortune.These are categorized as Ethinic jokes in which Walsall blkes fall victim to.This is the ideology that Sigmund Freud put's forward,"the need for tendentious jokes is a reponse to social expectations ,as the norms of etique usually prevent us from directly insulting others or braaching taboo subjects".This suggests that what people intend to say in all seriousness they cover as if it were a joke.

Gambling 26 April

I found this subject really interesting as i believe that there is a point inn everyones life that they have gambled.I think that interms of trying your luck,can not always be considered as a bad thing as there is at least once in a persons life time that they gamble.Doing the lotterey is a gamble as yoiu start off with a small proceed to gain a higher amount.You could say that life in general is a gamble.However noting is good in excess.





NB Gambling is not good if it is practiced excessively.

22 march Tattoo's and body piercings

This topic is really quite obvious.It depends on the individual to make the right choices for his or her own body.I remember the day that my oldersister had got her top ear and her nose pierced my mum was vex and she warnmed my sister that she would regret ever doing it.believe me she did.The piercing swelled her nose and the stud was stuck inside her nose.It look very painful.Also as a christian we are not supposed to damage the flesh with such things as piercings and tattoos even if it does represent a religious symbol.Body modifications are deviant.

What is it to be bad!

Being Bad,its the oposite to Good.It is something that is determined by ones action.It is what emphasizes that which is good.It is a physical act that has emotional and spiritual consequences.But is it wrong to be bad? Doesn't one neeed to encounter being bad to differentiate it from that which is good.It is to learn from ones mistakes.Then again what is 'bad' to one is 'good' to another.Therefore to be bad is to be curious.

............................Mr Chyssides, revealed that he was aware of what he had done by causing tension in the room .It was intentional.He had done this to start a religious debate amongst the crowd.I found this very darring as I believe I had heard words of abuse being echoed.Nevertheless the lesson continued as usual and the same old questions were thrown at the teacher.

March 15th joining a religious cult

This lesson was one of my favourites.I was able to relate and understand the issues that were raised as I am from a very religious background.However I found it very awkward vwhen Mr chryssides started a christian prayer whilst amoungst a multicultural and areligiously ambigious audience.My friend was raging and she immediately raised her hand in objection.You could hear the hissing in the audience people were not happy especially when there ways just as many Muslims as their were christians and what about the other religions.I must admit that I was not impressed especially as part of my family are muslim.Then suddenly....................

Bandits and outlaws 8th March

This session was based on passed time crimnals and whether their acts of crime could ever be justified.There are two case studies based in the early 1930's that saw criminals that are legends till the present day.These are 1933Pretty Boy Floyd and 1934's Bonnie and Clyde.Personally I have only heard of Bonnie and Clyde due to a glamourised image they were given in Jayz and Beyounce's 2003 version of Bonnie and Clyde.This emphasized there undenying love for each other regardless of the antisocial behaviour.

infidelity continued

During the lesson on infidelity we were also given handout which was based on 'Tales of infidelity'that is an extract from the guardian. This is based on different perspectives from the victims to the adulterers.It also has a passage based on internet infidelity.This suggest some ways in which infidelity is provoked by modern day technology.We were also asked to think of a film that reminded you of infidelity.I choose the 1999 film The Bestman.

1 March infidelity

This lesson was taken by MeenaDhanda in which it was based on infidelity.In simple terms infidelity to cheat or have an affair whilst in a relationship.We were given confessions from a previous session where some people wrote down ways inwhich they confessed to cheating.Example of these are,"I cheated on my boyfriend with his mate!","I slept with my friends husband", but the one that stood out most to me was,"I had a lesbian affair whilst in a heterosexual relationship!".That's just un forgivable!!!

feb 22 Masturbation

Today our topic was based on Masturbation.It is a really taboo subject to cover as it provided a mixed emotion around the room.Luckily my friend made a very uneasy topic quoite humourous as she statedwhat she felt female masturbation activity was," to please the pleasure hole!" I found this very amusing as the class gave out a loud gasp.I cringed away in my seat!!!!(poor louise-ann)

Feb 8 Smoking

To day our topic was based on whether or not smoking may be considered good or bad.Socially it is said to be a casual thing as it emphasizes the typical independent student image of being cool.Whereas on the other hand for health reasons it may be considered bad as it causes diseases such as lung cancer and heart failure.
